Would you like to know which Dragon’s Dogma 2 Sorcerer’s augments and talents are the best? The Sorcerer of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is your go-to guy for damage-dealing wizardry. Unlike the mage, which utilises a combination of harm and support magick, this specialist mage specialises in powerful assault spells. Although your focus will primarily be on magnificently pouring elements down on your target, you may anticipate some broad parallels with the mage’s talent here.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Official Website

We are here to assist you in your search for information, whether it is how to unlock the sorcerer or just a general sense of the potent magick you have access to. Here, we’ve covered all the bases regarding the top Sorcerer augments and talents so that you can cast the most destructive spells imaginable.

In this guide:

To unlock the Sorcerer in Dragon’s Dogma 2, follow these steps.

You can’t start the game with the Sorcerer profession, as it’s one of the more advanced ones in Dragon’s Dogma 2. But you won’t have to wait long to have it unlocked. You may unlock the Sorcerer and Warrior professions after visiting the Vocation Guild in Vernworth a few hours into the game, provided you complete the mission Vocation Frustration.

Finding and destroying a goblin den and recovering stolen weapons are the two main objectives of this quest. You won’t have any trouble defeating the goblins in the den not far from town; nevertheless, before venturing into their dominion, assemble a complete party of pawns to protect you.

The top weapon talents for the Sorcerer in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The architrave is a staff that the sorcerer utilises, which is somewhat raised. As architraves are just a few steps away from becoming a mage’s weapon, the sorcerer may equip many of the mage’s weapon abilities. Yet they have access to several magicks—my favourites, which are detailed below—that do more burst damage and cover more ground. One drawback of casting these powerful spells is the time required for the invocation.

Salamander

The serpentine flame trail that Salamander fires forth burns everything it touches and lingers on the ground for a short period, causing damage incessantly. Like many of the Sorcerer’s magicks, this one is great for doing damage on the go. When its upgraded version, High Salamander, becomes available, you should get it.

Thunder mine

The sorcerer’s unique spells might be a problem in battle due to their long incantation periods, particularly if foes frequently interrupt them with assaults. Using Thundermine can help you avoid this. When used, this ability summons a bolt of lightning that whizzes past your sorcerer and instantly hits any nearby enemies. Although it disappears after a few hits, it’s still a good idea to use this ability before a battle so your pawns aren’t forced to come to your aid.

If you’re a mage or sorcerer, you may create a terrifying concoction by combining Thundermine or its enhanced form, High Thundermind, with the lightning spells Levin or High Levin.

Hagel

Frostbite is inflicted on all enemies in its path by Hagol’s freezing blizzard, which he sends whirling around the area. Combined with abilities like Frigor or High Frigor, this talent may freeze adversaries in their tracks and unleash a barrage of frozen blasts (and stepping stones) across the battlefield.

You can make your blizzard stay longer and cover more ground using Hagol’s heightened version, High Hagol, as with the other upgrade spells we’ve covered.

Meteoron

In terms of massive destruction (and maybe slowing down your computer’s frame rate), Meteoron is the way to go. Despite the lengthy magic, the sorcerer will eventually call down meteors from the sky, which will land heavily on all enemies.

In terms of damage dealt and visual impact, Maelstrom is another of the Sorcerer’s most epic abilities; if you like to call upon a whirlwind, you might find it more appealing. Still, I’d rather be free to move anywhere Meteoron offers than be stuck in one place, so meteors win out.

Critical abilities for Dragon’s Dogma 2 sorcerers

A list of fundamental abilities forms the basis of each Dragon’s Dogma 2 profession. There are many shared abilities between the mage and the sorcerer, but there are also some significant distinctions.

Apply to galvanise
The Sorcerer’s Galvanise ability’ is an excellent fundamental ability since it allows them to concentrate their thoughts temporarily and restores their stamina bar. Although it would be great if other professions in Dragon’s Dogma 2 had this ability, it is only fair to provide the Sorcerer with a specific recovery ability because their massive spells cause them to lose stamina at a shockingly quick pace.

If you need a little boost while sprinting across the map, you may cast Galvanise while moving for reduced effectiveness. It’s a decent utility spell overall.

Quick spell

Magick-gathering animations are, frankly, the worst. If you’re coming from a Mage background and considered Quickspell an absolute must-have before switching to the Sorcerer vocation, you’re in for a rude awakening.

Using Quickspell in battle is a delicate balancing act of determining when a spell’s instantaneous pop is more critical than weathering a lengthy casting period, as it drastically decreases the casting duration of any spell but drains your stamina. In contrast to Mages, Sorcerers have Galvanise at their disposal, providing them with some leeway to counteract the stamina drain that comes with constantly casting Quickspell.

Shock Bolt
Like the Mage, the Sorcerer can raise Magick Bolt into the more powerful Bursting Bolt as a basic attack. The Sorcerer can use this fundamental ability to charge up their magical energy and then unleash a burst that hits an adversary and bursts shortly afterwards. This astonishingly delayed assault can do different things based on the sorcerer’s archistave’s enchantment. For example, upon activating the energy burst, opponents struck by the burst bolt may be immobile if the architrave possesses an Ice Boon spell.

The most excellent way to enhance Dragon’s Dogma 2 Sorcerer is

Augments in Dragon’s Dogma 2 boost your passive abilities. Both of these choices will work wonderfully with the solid damage-dealing Sorcerer build that is showcased below.

Catalysis

Whenever you take advantage of a target’s elemental vulnerability, catalysis amplifies the damage you do. So, if your ogre companion isn’t fireproof, hitting him with Salamander will undoubtedly increase his pain level.

Sagacity

Sagacity is an uncluttered magic enhancement that gives your spells more potency. A simple plan that will pay off handsomely in the end.
